It’s hard to believe that the summer is officially over and that both of our babies are now in elementary school!! And if we’re being completely honest, we would be lying if we didn’t admit that we are pretty excited and relieved that school is back in session! Don’t get me wrong, we absolutely LOVE spending summer days and nights with the kids, whether it’s checking out a new park while doing a scavenger hunt, splashing at the pool with friends and family or staying up way too late roasting marshmallows in our fire pit. However, it’s hard (and exhausting) to keep the kids entertained 24/7 and they get bored if there isn’t something to do. Plus they LOVE school!! They learn how to be independent, understand and respect structure and develop relationships with friends outside of those people that we’ve chosen for them. Sophia has literally been wishing that it was the 1st day since she got her teacher assignment letter on August 3rd! We feel that if we show them how exciting school can be that it will foster a love of learning that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. Sophia and Landon are excited about this year and so we are excited for them! It will also, thankfully, give us some more “productive” office hours as we go into the super crazy fall wedding season! Cheers to the first day of school and the happy dance that is being done by parents everywhere :)
We ran out of time on Wednesday, so I had to paint Sophia’s nails Thursday morning before school.
Sophia’s official first day was Thursday while Landon did a Kindergarten “mini-session” for 1 hour. His official first day is today (Friday)!
Glitter high tops… they were apparently uncomfortable, but cute, so she kept them on. Apparently style before comfort starts in 1st grade.
Sophia’s 1st Grade buddy and our neighbor – Bella :)
End of the day – she survived! First thing she came home to tell me was how she made a new BFF.
Now it’s Landon’s first day!
Hugo is not as excited as Landon is.
The bus stop crew has grown significantly since last year! Three Kindergarten boys :)
My baby <3 <3 <3
Peace and quiet at last! Today will be known as ‘Freedom Friday’! :)
Just kidding! The To-Do list is a mile long and now that this blog post is officially it’s time to get moving! Hope everyone has a great school year!
