For those who are married, have been to a wedding or work in the wedding industry – you understand that the day of the wedding can sometimes go, well, not quite as planned. There are times when it pours, all day long, moving your outside wedding indoors. Or the time a few years ago when severe flooding forced a couple of ours to relocate their outdoor farm wedding to a ballroom downtown at the last minute! Ahh!! Sometimes couples fall behind schedule, for one reason or another, and the time allotted for photos gets condensed to 10 minutes. And then there are times when a bride just wants to put back on her dress, now that the stress of planning a wedding is over, and take some fun photos! And maybe go somewhere to take photos that is special to them, but that they just didn’t have the time to incorporate on the wedding day. And perhaps this dress will get a wee-bit dirty, or she’ll sit on the ground, or walk in the sand – something that would maybe not happen on THE day!
For years we’ve been calling these sessions “Trash the Dress” – which is a scary term and quite frankly, we’ve never really witnessed a dress getting trashed (maybe wet…), so instead we would like to announce these as JUST MARRIED SESSIONS!!
Jenny + Scott were married back in May, and their wedding day was unbelievable. It was perfect! The weather was amazing, the venue was spectacular and the day went smoothly. However, when I first met with Jenny and her mom long before the wedding, they both agreed that doing a JUST MARRIED SESSION was something they were definitely interested in, because they wanted to spend the majority of the day taking photos and being with all of their amazing friends and family who were there to be with them. Of course we did photos of just the two of them, but we also gave them a lot of time to relax and really enjoy the day!
We met back up with Jenny + Scott last week at their former residence in Fells Point. This is where they met, fell in love, lived and eventually got engaged. There is even a bench, their bench, right by the water that has a plaque on it and reads “Will You Marry Me?”… Sooo sweet!! We were so thrilled to be able to go back out and do some fun photos with these two and are so excited to share some of our favorites from the evening.
After having some fun with their cowboy boots, it was time to put back on the REAL shoes :-) And of course, purple camo socks!
Some local boaters were even so nice to let us borrow some of their flags!
